Frequently Asked Questions

Can we walk in, or do we need an appointment?

We welcome walk ins, however if you have a large group of 8 or more a reservation on the
weekends might be a good idea.

How long does it take?

We recommend a minimum of 2 hours for all painters over the age of 13. It can take up to 20 minutes to choose your pottery and glaze colors before you begin glazing. We recommend 3 coats of glaze for full coverage so this can take longer than most people expect.

Are my finished items microwave and dishwasher safe?

We do not recommend putting your finished pottery in the microwave or dishwasher. The type of clay we use is susceptible to damage under intense and sudden heat.

How long will you hold my finished piece?

We will hold all finished pottery for up to 8 weeks after firing. After that all pieces will be donated. We do not have the room to hold pieces for long periods of time.

What happens if I can’t finish my piece in one day?

If you can’t finish your piece in one sitting, we will wrap up your piece for you to take home. You are welcome to come back at your convenience to finish it during our regular business hours.

Are food and drink allowed in the studio?

Yes, food and drink are allowed in the studio. If you are eating anything greasy or oily, we recommend eating before or after glazing and washing your hands thoroughly before handling any ceramics.
